4:13 is a 501 (c) (3) non-profit organization created to assist children in emerging nations who struggle with the effects of poverty. Through the means of empowerment and support, we promote healing, health and hope.
How It All Began…
In 2002, 4:13 was founded after Greg Wenhold was given the opportunity to travel to eastern Africa on a Pastor’s mission trip. During this time he witnessed children struggling against the forces of poverty first hand. There was a critical need for water, food, education, health, and housing – all integral elements for a productive future.
This experience changed Greg forever.
“I believe God wants me to do something about what I have seen and experienced. I believe I have been called to be a part of a global community that has so many needs, and cries out for people to listen and respond.” – G.W.
Greg, along with the Wenhold family, formed the organization 4:13 to empower children’s lives from poverty to possibility. The name “4:13” finds focus in the powerful words of St. Paul as he writes in Philippians, chapter 4, verse 13: “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me!” The goal of 4:13 is to engage funds so that positive change can happen in the lives of children in emerging nations.
